Frangitalia: security and privacy at the G7 in Borgo Egnazia

Borgo Egnazia is heavily armoured for the G7, the summit of heads of state of the most industrialised countries in the world. The G7 will be held from 13 to 15 June 2024: the prefecture’s security measures and the ordinances issued by the municipalities of Brindisi and Fasano and the harbour master’s office are impressive. Two Maximum Security Areas have been activated, which include the landing area for the helicopters that will bring world leaders and the Pope to Apulia.

To surround the landing area, the system proposed by EMMEGI spa, developed together with its partner Gallo Prefabbricati srl, was used: a 2.60 m high barrier made up of Frangitalia panels mounted on New Jersey, idel for guaranteeing privacy and safety.

EMMEGI spa’s Frangitalia is a versatile and elegant architectural louver product made of louvered steel bars electrowelded to crossround bars hidden behind the panel. It provides an economical and practical solution for applications where screening and concealing are required.

The security system installed at the Borgo Egnazia Maximum Security area consists of a one-metre high New Jersey concrete barrier on top of which  a 1613 mm high Frangitalia closed has been installed by mean of posts and base plate.

The Frangitalia closed provides 100% view-block while allowing the passage of air with an outflow coefficient of 0.27.
