CE Certification Steel Grating

Emmegi Spa was the first Italian company able to supply CE marked metal gratings, adopting the quality standards set out in EN 1090 for manufacturers of steel structural components, in compliance with Regulation (EU) No. 305/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 March 2011 (Construction Products Regulation or CPR), with certificate for construction product: structural components and kits for steel structures; factory production control assessed in compliance with applicable requirements.

Standard EN 1090-1/EC 1-2011 “Execution of steel and aluminium structures Part 1: Requirements for conformity assessment of structural components” describes the requirements and procedures for CE marking, according to Directive 89/106/EEC and European Regulation (EU) No. 305/2011. All manufacturers of steel and aluminium structures and integral parts thereof, who are already obliged to comply with the specific requirements for the steel construction sector (§11.3.4.10 of Ministerial Decree 14.01.2008), must CE mark their products according to EN 1090-1. This application, which has been voluntary since 1 December 2010, became mandatory by law (cogent) as of 1 July 2014.

The CE marking affixed and the relative DoP (Declaration of Performance), must then indicate conformity to the intended use as specified in the various options of the standard itself.
