All gates manufactured by EMMEGI spa are in full compliance with the construction criteria of the current European legislation, and, as such, they are individually marked C E, the European conformity mark, which guarantees a high standard of safety and superior quality. Every single gate is provided with a C E marked metal tag and is delivered with its own installation, use and maintenance manual.
The new automated gate production line, built at the EMMEGI plant, equipped with a robot system, is based on software that designs the gates in accordance with current European standards. The software dimensions the gate structure in accordance with the technical and safety requirements of the UNI EN 13241:2016 standard: Industrial, commercial and garage doors and gates – Product standard, performance characteristics.
The European Standard UNI EN 13241:2016 of 28 October 2016 ‘Industrial, commercial and garage doors and gates – Product standard, performance characteristics’ became mandatory on 2 November 2017.
This standard specifies how the gate should be designed and constructed in compliance with the safety requirements under the conditions of use. Compared to the previous edition, EN 13241-1:2011, the updated 2016 edition currently in force, also applies to gates with a leaf size of less than 6.25 square metres, so it also applies to pedestrian gates.
The UNI EN 13241:2016 standard specifies the technical requirements by referring to other technical standards such as UNI EN 12604 for mechanical requirements; UNI EN 12424 and UNI EN 12444 relating to wind load resistance; and UNI EN 12453 relating to safety for motorised gates.
